dc.description <p>This synthesis proposes ways to use the Internet and artistic endeavors to communicate about science to a wider range of audiences than currently reached by science communicators, even those who already use social media. Science communicators, who control who gets information about science and how, need to be welcoming and inviting to people from all walks of life. My own contributions in this spirit include science-themed jewelry and clothing patterns.</p>
