dc.description	Although the writing was on the wall for several years prior, it appears that time will show that the ﬁrst day of the Second Lebanon War marked a watershed. The war presented the public in Israel with a clear picture of a threat that has changed radically. Before the war, the IDF had focused on combating Palestinian terrorism and on attempting to construct an updated understanding of warfare against the classical military threat; the war, however, revealed the full force of the threat coming from high trajectory ﬁre.
