dc.description Not only does the South African Navy have a proud history, but it is constantly occupied with the building of a highly efficient, modern naval power. The origin and development of the South African Navy since 1912 to the present day is discussed and special attention is given to the facts and occurrences that merit emphasis from either a historical or military point of view.
