<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 4pt; line-height: 12pt; mso-pagination: widow-orphan; mso-line-height-rule: exactly;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; mso-font-kerning: 0pt; mso-fareast-language: EN-US;" lang="EN-US"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">This short paper is aimed at providing a brief plausible answer to Plato’s problem using Chomskyan notion of innateness and insights from complexity science. To this end, it tries to shed more light on the nature of the interactions between linguistic input and language faculty drawing on insights provided by complexity theory which places more emphasis on the role of linguistic environment in language learning. </span></span></p>
