dc.description The aim of the study is to compare secondary science education curriculum with the science questions of entrance examination to the high schools and to determine whether personal information has an effect on entrance exams. The pool of the inquiry is composed of 8th grade students of primary schools in Çankırı. The sampling is made up 120 8th grade students randomly chosen from Çankırı city center, Yapraklı and Korgun districts. The data is obtained by means of carrying out Personal Information Forms and Science Test developed by the researcher. In the analysis of data, frequency and percentage calculation is done related to the questions and their comments in the personal information form and science test. It is also done t-test and variance analysis for the purpose of comparing the points taken by science test with personal information forms. The data analysis shows that the success of the students in the questions those are appropriate to the curriculum of secondary science education is greater than those which aren’t appropriate to the curriculum. It is found that the social, cultural and economical properties of the students are highly affecting their success in entrance examination of high schools.
