dc.description The article informs about the outcome of the probe into the study on the motivation of students of the second and third grade of grammar school in chemistry. It is focused on the structure of the motivation, which is compared with the outcome of the research of grammar schools' students in Czech Republic and on the gender differences in the motivation of students. The study comprises the analysis of the ability of teachers to identify the prevailing type of motivation of their students spontaneously as well.Príspevok referuje o výsledkoch výskumnej sondy zameranej na zistenie učebnej motivácie žiakov 2. a 3. ročníkov gymnázia v predmete chémia. Upriamuje pozornosť na štruktúru učebnej motivácie, ktorú orientačne porovnáva s výsledkami výskumu stredoškolákov v Českej republike, a na rodové rozdiely v motivácii žiakov. Súčasťou práce je tiež analýza schopností učiteľov intuitívne diagnostikovať prevažujúcu učebnú motiváciu svojich žiakov.
