dc.description This article aims to contribute to the analysis of the history of mathematics education in Brazil, identifying the existence of a network of social interaction in the context of the Modern Mathematics Movement, formed in order to institutionalize a new standard of teaching of mathematics in Brazil, more specifically in Bahia, around the mid-Twentieth Century. In particular, we point out the triad formed by Omar Catunda, Leopoldo Nachbin and Marshal Stone and scientific events held in Brazil at the time, emphasizing that the reconciliation of professional and personal interests of the actors involved influenced this process of institutional development. Based on concepts like cultural circularity and actor-network theory, we present this process and elements relating to their characteristics outlined by Sociology.&#13; &#13; Keywords: History of Mathematics Education. Movement of Modern.&#13; Mathematics.<br>Este artigo busca contribuir com a análise da história da Educação Matemática no Brasil, identificando a existência de uma rede social de interação estabelecida no contexto do Movimento da Matemática Moderna, constituída com o intuito de institucionalizar um novo padrão de ensino de matemática no Brasil e, mais especificamente na Bahia, por volta da metade do século XX. Em especial, apontamos a tríade formada por Omar Catunda, Leopoldo Nachbin e Marshal Stone e os eventos científicos realizados no Brasil na época, destacando que a conciliação de interesses profissionais e pessoais dos atores envolvidos interferiu no desenvolvimento desse processo de institucionalização. A partir de conceitos como circularidade cultural e teoria ator-rede, apresentamos esse processo, relacionando seus elementos às respectivas características traçadas pela Sociologia.&#13; &#13; Palavras-Chave: História da Educação Matemática.
