dc.description In this study, it was aimed to investigate the change of science teacher candidates’ misconceptions of acids-bases with respect to grade level. The sample consisted of total 138 science student teachers (ranging from first to fourth grade) enrolled the Department of Science Teacher Training, Education Faculty, Bayburt University. The data were gathered by the “acid-base misconception scale”, a multiple-choose test, with 13 items. One-way ANOVA was performed for whether the misconception test average scores of the students in different levels show a statistically significant difference according to each other. In addition, determining separately the misconception statements held by students in each level, the percentages of science teachers having a certain misconception was calculated and evaluated. The results of variance analysis suggested that science teacher candidates’ misconceptions of acids-bases showed no difference with respect to grade level. And, the findings indicated that there were similarities among the percentages of misconceptions identified in different levels and science teachers had similar misconceptions at the rates of 80%.
