dc.description At present the process of forming the professional competence of a University graduate is fulfilled in the system “from a Bachelor - to the Master”. The development of modern state educational standards has led to reconsidering the requires to University graduates. In the structure of the professional competence of bachelors and masters linguo-didactic competence is performed as a component of the considering term. The article defines the term of linguo-didactic competence of masters on a profile of training “Linguistics”; describes the content of the considering term. The peculiarities of linguo-didactic competence are given on the basis of the analysis of the included in it capacities (linguistic; speech; socio-cultural; didactic and personal); in according to the requires of modern state educational standards. Purpose: to define the term of linguo-didactic competence of masters on a profile of training “Linguistics” on the basis of analysis of scientific approaches, researches and modern state educational standards Methodology. To achieve the purpose there has been used a complex of theoretical methods of research, including the analysis of philosophical, pedagogical and psychological, methodological literature, regulatory documentation. Results. There has been offered the definition of the term of linguo-didactic competence of masters on a profile of training “Linguistics”; defined its structure, characterized the content of the components included in the considering term. Comparison of requirements to bachelors and masters on a profile of training "Linguistics" shows that all professional activities demand realisation of the generalised knowledge and complex professional skills by masters. Steady professional values and ideals, the professional flexible analytical mentality will allow masters to solve professional problems by applying the linguistic means in accordance to the situations. Practical implications. The results of the survey can be used at the university system of education, in the process of the professional training of masters on a profile “Linguistics”.
