dc.description	Una característica que distingue a la Revolución Cubana es la solidaridad internacional, que se ha materializado en diversos sectores de la sociedad. El objetivo de este trabajo es narrar brevemente los acontecimientos más importantes relacionados con los antecedentes de la fundación de la Facultad de Medicina de Adén, en la República Popular y Democrática de Yemén, que dio inicio a la colaboración internacionalista cubana en el campo de la docencia médica. Entre los acontecimientos más significativos de esta etapa se destacan: el estudio realizado por la Comisión conjunta cubano-yemenita en febrero-marzo de 1974 para valorar la posibilidad de crear dicha Facultad de Medicina; el Convenio de Colaboración entre los Ministerios de Salud Pública de Cuba y de la República Popular y Democrática de Yemén, en julio de 1974; el Protocolo de Colaboración entre la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de La Habana y el representante del Ministerio de Salud Pública de la República Popular y Democrática de Yemén, en agosto de 1974 y el entrenamiento del personal docente yemenita en Cuba, basado en la docencia de las Ciencias Básicas de la Educación Médica Superior, en el primer semestre de 1975.<br>A characteristic distinguishing the Cuban Revolution is international solidarity, which has been materialized in diverse sectors of society. The objective of this paper is to briefly narrate the most important developments connected with the foundation of the Faculty of Medicine of Aden in the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen that gave origin to the Cuban internationalist cooperation in the medical teaching field. The study conducted by the Cuban-Yemenite Joint Commission from February to March 1974 to assess the possibility of creating this Faculty of Medicine, the Cooperation Agreement signed between the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba and the Ministry of Public Health of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen, in July 1974, the Cooperation Protocol signed between the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Havana and the representative of the Ministry of Public Health of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen, in August 1974, and the training of the Yemenite teaching personnel in Cuba, based on the teaching of Basic Sciences of Higher Medical Education, in the first semestre of 1975, are among the most significant events of that period.
