dc.description The main aim of this descriptive survey method research is to assess the perception of knowledge level of classroom teacher candidates about measurement and evaluation methods. Population of the study consists of 610 final year students studying at Education Faculties of Hacettepe, Siirt, Anadolu, Osmangazi, Afyon Kocatepe and Firat Universities. A simple random sample of 288 teacher candidates was selected from the population. The data was collected by means of a scale designed and developed by researchers. The data were analyzed by employing frequency and percentages techniques, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, Independent samples t test, Mann-Whitney U test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), LSD test and Kruskal-Wallis test. Classroom teacher candidates have more information about traditional measurement and evaluation methods and have moderate information about alternative measurement and evaluation methods according to the findings of the research. In the light of the result of the research, it is suggested to increase the functionality of „Measurement and Evaluation‟ and „Teaching Practice‟ Courses.
