dc.description The subject of corried out experts are the processes of mythologation of the mass consiousness of Russian people in the context of democratic reforms in contemporary Russian society is examined the myth of free elections, as the basis of the democratic form of government. It is emphasized that elections have a symbolic meaning, as the principal means of power legitimation in the democratic state. The aim of the extert is the socio-philosophical study of the nature of mass consciousness mythologation in conditions of modern Russian society. In this work there have been applied several methodological approaches enabling the most objective consideration of theme of the study. Dialectical method has allowed to consider the problems of manipulation of mass consciousness in modern Russian society typologising the mechanisms of social myth creation. There has been used the structural-functional approach directing the attention of researcher at the character of social myth functions, conparitivly - historical approach, allowing to draw parallels between the level of myth enfluence on the mass consciousness in different historical eras and different civilesation systems. The research materials can be used in further scientific developments in the cours of chosen problems, in aducational process for emproving the programs of training courses in social philosofy, philosophy of management, political sociology, history of political idears and political history of Russia and foreign countries, social psychology.
