Resumen: Estudio el libro Cristología, fe de Jesús, fe cristiana, de Francisco Avendaño Herrera (San José: UNED, 2002), para determinar cómo influyen los conocimientos previos del estudiantado (asociados con una perspectiva tradicionalista) en su comprensión lectora del conocimiento nuevo que presenta el texto de Avendaño. Recolecté los datos mediante observación participante en las tutorías del curso de Cristología en que se utiliza el texto (programa de Teología a Distancia de la UNED y la UNA, ambas instituciones de educación superior de Costa Rica). Analizo los resultados con base en tres posibles formas de lectura: autoritaria, negociada y competente. Concluyo señalando un predominio de la lectura autoritaria y negociada, que puede explicarse por la función social de la religión en la construcción de la realidad de los sujetos, razón por la cual estos parecen resistirse a comprender un conocimiento nuevo que les genera incertidumbre en su visión de mundo en materia religiosa. Emito, finalmente, una serie de recomendaciones sobre cambios que, con base en los resultados de este estudio, podrían introducirse en una nueva edición del libro analizado.Abstract: I have studied Francisco Avendaño-Herrera’s book Cristología, fe de Jesús, fe cristiana («Christology, the faith of Jesus, the faith of Christendom») (San Jose: UNED, 2002) to determine how the students’ prior knowledge (associated with a traditionalistic outlook) influences their reading comprehension of such new knowledge as could be acquired from Avendaño-Herrera’s book. I collected the data through observation while attending tutoring sessions at the Christology course where the text is used (under the distance education programme in theology of both, UNED and UNA, which are Costa Rican higher education institutions). I analysed the results based on the possibility to do an authoritarian, a negotiated, and a competent reading. In conclusion, may I point to a predominance of an authoritarian and negotiated reading, which may be explained by the social role that religion plays in the development of the subjects’ reality; this is the reason why they seem to be reluctant to comprehend new knowledge which may generate uncertainty concerning their vision of the world from the religious point of view. Lastly, I make a number of recommendations on changes that could, based on the results of this study, be made to a new edition of the book under analysis. |
