dc.description	O texto discute a reforma universitária atualmente em curso, procurando uma abordagem global, integrando a reflexão sobre a reforma com outros temas que têm percorrido a agenda governamental. A base empírica compõe-se de depoimentos de autoridades e de personalidades da área, noticiadas pela imprensa, por documentos oficiais e projetos de lei já encaminhados ao Congresso. Na análise, apresenta especial destaque para os processos que remetem à privatização do sistema de ensino superior com o conseqüente empobrecimento das missões da universidade e a mercantilização da produção do conhecimento.<br>This paper discusses the ongoing University Reform in Brazil aiming at a global approach integrating reflections on the Reform to others matters that compose the governmental agenda. The empirical basis comprises statements of authorities and of personalities from this area published by the press, official documents and Projects of Law already sent to Congress. Its analysis gives a special highlight to the processes that point to the privatization of the higher educational system with the consequent impoverishment of the university mission and the commoditization of knowledge production.
