dc.description ResumenLos modelos multinivel, o modelos jerárquico-lineales, se constituyen como uno de los métodos de análisis en investigación cuantitativa más interesantes de los generados en los últimos años. En este artículo se pretende realizar una introducción a los mismos a través de su aplicación en una investigación concreta. De esta forma se presenta un análisis de los fundamentos de los modelos multinivel, se analiza el proceso de modelaje con un ejemplo real, y se finaliza reflexionando sobre de las aportaciones y utilidades de esta metodología de análisis.AbstractMultilevel models, or hierarchic-lineal models, are one of the most interesting models generated in recent years in quantitative research analysis methodologies. This article aims to present these models through their application in research. In this manner, the study presents an analysis of the foundations for multilevel models. The modeling process is analyzed in a real-life sample, concluding with a reflection about the contributions and utilities of this methodology of analysis.ResumoOs modelos multi-nível, ou modelos hierárquico-lineais, são um dos métodos de análise mais interessantes na pesquisa quantitativa produzidos nos últimos anos. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar os métodos através da sua aplicação numa pesquisa concreta. Desta forma, apresenta-se uma análise dos fundamentos dos modelos multi-nível, analisa-se o processo de modelagem com um exemplo real, e finaliza-se com uma reflexão sobre os aportes e utilidades desta metodologia de análise.
