dc.description El presente trabajo tiene por objeto precisar la determinación del habla en la conformación de las identidades, específicamente el voseo zuliano. Los objetivos de la investigación fueron los siguientes: (a) Describir el uso del voseo en la conformación de las identidades en los adolescentes zulianos. (b) Identificar el uso del voseo en los/las adolescentes zulianos (as) de clase media. (c) Identificar el empleo del voseo por parte de los representantes. La muestra estuvo conformada por 32 informantes del sector La Virginia, siendo éstos estudiantes del Colegio Bellas Artes. 16 de los informantes eran del sexo masculino, y 16 del sexo femenino. El análisis de los resultados permite concluir que el habla zuliana es un componente identitario importante en los jóvenes de clase media, marcándose una distancia por parte de las informantes del sexo femenino. Los representantes tienden a evitar el voseo tanto en sus hogares como en su trabajo, pero reconocen que el habla del zuliano es una de los elementos identitarios de mayor rango en la identidad regional.<br>The present research is to clarify the determination of speech in the formation of identities, specifically the voseo from Zulia. The research objectives were: (a) To describe the use of vos in the shaping of identities in adolescents from Zulia state. (B) To identify the use of vos in middle class adolescents from Zulia state. (C) To identify the use of voseo by their parents. The sample consisted of 32 informants in the area of La Virginia, they were all students from Colegio Bellas Artes. 16 of the informants were male and 16 female. The analysis of the results leads to the conclusion that the dialect from Zulia state is an important component within their identity processes in the  middle class adolescent , but a distance is marked by the female informants. Representatives tend to avoid voseo both at home and at work, but recognize that the dialect from Zulia is one of the most relevant identity elements.
