dc.description O texto traz resultados de estudo de caso que focaliza escola técnica de nível médio administrada por Organização da Sociedade Civil de Interesse Público - Oscip -, por meio de contrato de gestão estabelecido com o governo do Estado do Ceará. Os dados indicam que a associação "público-privado" focalizada afasta-se do criticado modelo de "quase-mercado", tal como implantado na área educacional na Inglaterra, uma vez que os mecanismos de mercado introduzidos revelam-se bastante diferentes do paradigma inglês. No caso estudado, o enfraquecimento da dimensão pública da escola passa por outra vertente, na qual a exigência de que a escola venda serviços para completar seu orçamento parece ter desdobramentos deletérios na dinâmica escolar, dos quais a alta taxa de evasão pode ser um indicador relevante.<br>This text presents the results of a case study focusing on a secondary technical school managed by an a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest - Oscip -, through the analysis of a management contract that was signed with the Ceará State government. Data indicate that this particular "public-private" partnership departs from the criticized "quasi-market" model implemented in the educational area in England, since the market mechanisms introduced here turned out to be quite different. In the case studied, the weakening of the schools' public dimension passes through another discussion, in which the demand to sell services to supplement the school's budget seems to have harmful developments in the school dynamics, of which the high rate of drop-outs can be a relevant indicator.
