Purpose of research analysis of studies by Soviet and Russian historians about to persons of Pope Pius XII Methodology of research. Analysis and synthesis, the partial application of the method of modeling, the methodology of retrospective and prospective analysis. Results of research. Studies found particularly in the context of Soviet historians ideologies general historical works, we have proved the scientific value of studies of the Soviet period, which can be classified by their types: the actual science and pseudoscience. Shown in highlight key differences in the studies of Soviet and Russian periods, there is the development of research questions of post-Soviet activities. Practical implications of research. Findings offer the prospect of further investigation of the influence of personality Pius XII on the historical processes in Europe and the world, including policy of the Vatican during the Second World War, the establishment of the United Nations, the active participation of Pius XII in the «cold war». |
