O texto concebe alfabetização como forma de política cultural. Critica teorias de alfabetização, sugere uma teoria renovada, bem como focaliza campanhas de alfabetização, principalmente as que se realizam em ex-colônias na África. Por fim, argumenta que os programas de alfabetização, para se pautarem por uma perspectiva emancipadora, precisam partir da língua dos alunos.<br>This article conceives literacy as a form of cultural policy. It criticizes literacy theories in order to make room for a new approach. It also focuses on literacy campaigns, especially those carried out in former colonies of Africa. Finally, the paper argues that if literacy programs are to adopt a liberating perspective, they must be based on the students' own language. |
