dc.description El propósito de este trabajo fue conocer la percepción de la calidad educativa de 465 padres de 120 centros preescolares de la región Metropolitana y del Bio Bío. Para ello se utilizó la Escala ECERS PADRES<A HREF="#n2e">**</A>, a la que se le realizó un análisis psicométrico. Se comparó la calidad percibida por los padres con una medición objetiva realizada por observadores externos entrenados que utilizaron la Escala ECERS<A HREF="#n3e">***</A>. Como resultado se encontró que el instrumento ECERS PADRES es confiable para ser aplicado en la realidad chilena. Los padres otorgan alta importancia a todos los aspectos de calidad considerados y perciben como muy buenos a la gran mayoría de ellos. La evaluación de los padres, comparada con la de los evaluadores externos entrenados, resultó ser significativamente menos exigente.<br>The purpose of this research was to know the perception of parents of the quality of education in 465 parents from 120 pre-school centers in the Metropolitan and Bio Bío regions, using the ECERS PARENTS Scale (<A HREF="#n2i">**</A>). A psychometric perceived analysis of the instrument was carried out. We compared the quality perceived by parents with an objective measure carried out by trained external observers using the ECERS Scale (<A HREF="#n3i">***</A>). As a result it was found that the ECERS PARENTS instrument is trustworthy to be applied in the Chilean environment. Parents give high importance to all the aspects of quality and perceive the majority of them as very good. It was observed that the parents’ evaluation resulted less demanding in comparison with trained external observers.
