The subject of a brought forward theoretical research is the evaluation of the society’s role in forming of consideration for himself by a homeless human being. The purpose of the work is in the objective reflection of the problem of homelessness and the social institutes’ treatment of it. The basic method of the research is the analysis of the sources of information devoted to the problems of homelessness. The theoretical analysis of the problems which are met by homeless people made it possible to come to the conclusion that in the contemporary society these representatives experience stigmatization and discrimination. Because of the negative stereotypes created by mass communication media the status of homeless people is only getting worse. For solving the problem is necessary not only to reflect its essence abstracting its representatives, but to initiate the revision of the social opinion to this particular category of unprotected citizens without treating them as full valued people and subjects of their own life. |
