La atención a un futuro sostenible no puede seguir ausente de la Educación y así lo ha entendido la ONU que ha declarado el período 2005-2014 como la Década de la Educación para un Desarrollo Sostenible. Ante este reto, la Educación Ambiental (EA) se configura como "instrumento” indispensable para formar ciudadanos que apliquen criterios de sostenibilidad a sus comportamientos. Ello implica el diseño de estrategias educativas que superen el abismo existente entre el discurso teórico de la EA y su práctica cotidiana. Por ello, hemos diseñado una estrategia didáctica, de carácter constructivista, basada en la realización de “investigaciones” sobre los impactos ambientales que generan los patrones de producción y los hábitos de consumo imperantes en nuestra sociedad, de la que presentamos los resultados obtenidos en un estudio piloto realizado para valorar su eficacia. Participan 137 profesores en formación, divididos en dos grupos -experimental y de control- a los que se aplica la estrategia didáctica a evaluar y una metodología “tradicional”, respectivamente. Los resultados obtenidos en el pretest indican que no existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre los grupos considerados; de los obtenidos en el postest, se concluye que los sujetos del grupo experimental modifican significativamente sus conocimientos conceptuales, mejoran su nivel actitudinal y, sobre todo, manifiestan su compromiso a realizar acciones, con criterios de sustentabilidad.<br>The attention to the sustainable future can not be away from education. UNO has understood it and declared that 2005-2014 was the Decade for the Education for a Sustainable Development. This is a challenge and Environmental Education (EE) presents itself as a useful instrument to prepare citizens so that they apply the criteria of sustainability to their behaviours. This implies the design of teaching strategies that go over the gap between the theoretical discourse in EE and the daily practice. So, we developed a “investigative” didactic strategy, with a constructive character, based on researching on the environmental impact that the consumption habits of our society produce. We present the results of a pilot study designed to evaluate its efficacy. In the study, 137 future teachers participated. They were divided in two groups, “experimental” and “control “, and they were taught using the new didactic methodology or a more traditional one, respectively. The results in the pre-test show that there are not statistical differences between the groups. From the post-test it can be concluded that the experimental group change significantly their knowledge, improve their attitudes and, above all, they show a disposition to undertake actions, as individuals and groups, with sustainability criteria and a special emphasis in solidarity and equity intra and intergenerational. |
