dc.description Los resultados de investigaciones muestran que el interés de los alumnos por los diversos temas de física disminuye en forma preocupante desde que se inicia el segundo ciclo de la Educación Básica hasta los últimos cursos de la Educación Media. Existen, sin embargo, algunos temas y, especialmente, algunos contextos que despiertan mayor interés en los alumnos. Por ello, se ha trabajado un nuevo modelo de trabajo que, partiendo de situaciones propias del contexto en que se desenvuelven los estudiantes, llega al desarrollo de los contenidos propios de la asignatura, logrando una mayor motivación por su estudio y mejores rendimientos.<br>Results of research show that the interest of students in the different topics of physics, although high at the 5th grade of primary school, is very low when they reach the 4th grade of secondary school. However, results also show that there are some topics and, some contexts especially, which awaken the interests of boys and girls. Based upon these results, a new methodological approach is proposed, where the starting point are some events familiar to the students. This approach has allowed us to obtain a much higher motivation and better achievement of the students.
