dc.description This paper originates from the discussion on social representations dependent on communication and exchange of human beings, they act as a cause by providing the meanings in the construction of reality (Moscovici, 1981) where the representations in the social sciences dominant semantic contents are involved, ways of acting and overdetermined behavior toward his scientific work. Knowing how to operate the Social Representations in Social Science, the belief systems involved in the construction of indicators, instruments, within the paradigms of qualitative and quantitative, which gender is privileged against the Venezuelan social reality and how it is structured semantic content in the speeches of disclosure of the investigation is very useful to raise the necessary changes in academic discourse. The category of gender requires the inclusion of new and rigorous methods that approximate to the social imagination and social representations that reproduce the violence and domination exercises, among them the methods of the qualitative paradigm is more relevant. An example of this qualitative paradigm is the critical analysis of speeches of political violence, which, as a method allows an understanding of current reality in Venezuela: the facts of the coup of 2002, television mediation, semantic construction, dominant representations in the discourse of groups that vie for political power and legitimacy of violence so as to obtain it.
