dc.description O texto busca uma reflexão sobre a problemática da educação infantil, tomando como foco de análise o processo de formação de professores para a intervenção pedagógica na
 infância brasileira. Nesse sentido, são levantados aspectos das políticas públicas educacionais e da produção teórica de pesquisadores brasileiros sobre a infância e sobre a educação infantil, na tentativa de contribuir para o necessário (re)dimensionamento do papel dos professores em uma perspectiva que leve em conta a especificidade da produção cultural da criança. The objective of this paper is to discuss the issue of Children Education, focusing on the process of teachers’ formation for the pedagogical intervention in the childhood of Brazilians. Therefore, aspects of educational public policies and theoretical productions of Brazilian investigators about infancy and children education were surveyed, in an attermpt to contribute with the necessity to (re)evaluate the role of teachers in a perspective that takes into account the specificity of the child’s cultural production.
