dc.description |
In this paper we initially discuss some limitations of the mental model theoretical framework for research in science education. Then, after an analysis of Vergnaud´s conceptual fields theory we propose an approach that integrating elements of both theoretical frameworks could provide a better understanding of some cognitive processes involved in the learning of scientific concepts. Finally, we suggest possible implications of this approach for science teaching as well as for research in this area. |
