dc.description	Objetivo: destacar la importancia del trabajo educativo en el desarrollo de un adecuado sistema de valores personales en los estudiantes universitarios. Desarrollo: se hizo un estudio de cómo Cuba ha definido para la educación superior la prioridad del trabajo educativo y de cómo su componente curricular se ha perfilado con más protagonismo en la formación integral de la personalidad profesional con el advenimiento de una nueva generación de planes de estudio en las condiciones de la universalización de la educación superior. Se analiza el caso particular de las carreras de ciencias médicas, por la naturaleza de sus procesos y el desarrollo alcanzado por la educación en el trabajo dentro del proceso docente-educativo, se produce una síntesis de lo curricular, lo sociopolítico y lo extensionista. Se hizo especial énfasis en la carrera de Licenciatura en Enfermería en la cual se estableció el nuevo plan de estudio “D” con una estrategia curricular. Conclusiones: La base metodológica de esa estrategia así como de otras que se han trazado dentro de la carrera, es el fortalecimiento de la coordinación vertical de la disciplina Enfermería, así como la horizontal interdisciplinaria<br>Objective: to stress the importance of the educative work in the development of an adequate system of personal values among university students. Development: a study was undertaken on how Cuba has defined the priority of the educative work for higher education and how its curricular component acquires a more protagonist character in the comprehensive training of the professional personality with the advent of a new generation of curricula under the conditions of the universalization of higher education. The particular case of the medical sciences careers is analyzed. Due to the nature of their processes and to the development attained by education in the work within the teaching-educative proccess, a synthesis of the curricular, the sociopolitical and the extensional aspects is produced. Special emphasis was made on the Nursing Licenciate career, where a new curriculum “D” with a curricular strategy was established. Conclusions: the methodological basis of this strategy, as well as of others that have been drawn within the career, is the strengthening of the vertical coordination of the Nursing discipline, as well as the horizontal interdisciplinary coordination
