Abstract:This article is intended to show how the short story The little mouse that drowned may open communication channels to explore, with adolescents, the matter of losses. I analyze the answers provided by three individuals to a series of questions on the most important losses in their lives (those suffered during adolescence, death of a parent, divorce of parents, school failure) and their interpretation of the mourning reactions of the different characters in the story. I wish to conclude by recommending that adolescents be accompanied during this mutation stage with strategies such as reading and commenting of literary texts.
