Summary: This article studies the similarities among Spanish plays written in different centuries. In spite of the 300 hundred years that separate the Spanish burlesque comedies of the Golden Century and the theater written under “esperpento’s” techniques by Ramón del Valle-Inclán, they both share similar dramatic techniques and themes. I analyze those connections which are mainly related to the grotesque. |
