dc.description The aim of this study is to investigate the attitudes of the primary school students, towardsmathematics according to various variables. The sample of the study is based on 29 girls and 35 boys giving the total of 64children who have graduated from 9 Eylül Primary school and have enrolled to Bayraktar Türk Marif College in the year2006-2007 and are now in seventh grade together with 21 girls and 25 boys giving the total of 46 children from Near EastPrimary school who are now in the Near East College. In order to reveal children’s success in mathematics the principalsfrom school have given us the opportunity to gain access to children marks based on their reports. In this study we have usedthe mathematics attitude scale which was developed by Aşkar (1986). To analyze the given variables based on the attitudestowards mathematics percentage (%) mean ( ), standart deviation (sd) was used. To be able to evaluate the variables;correlation analysis and t-test were used. The statistical significance level was given as 0.05. The SPSS 12.0 programme wasused in the variables analysis.
