The article is devoted to the study of military factor as Russian modernization mechanism in 1725-1801. The author sets as an object the analyses of Great Northern War impact on the transition of Russian Empire from an agrarian society to industrial one. He emphasizes the wholeness of modernization processes in Russia as the keystone to their successful implementation. The interpretation of a war as the original “challenge” to Russian (Slavic) civilization which had the “response” in the form of the Russian modernization is the scientific novelty of work. The author comes to the conclusion that the Great Northern War kept on to impact on Russian Empire modernization in the time of Peter I’s successors. It predetermined development of market economy elements; laid the foundations of processes of Russian society social mobility and particular urbanization; had an influence on value purposes of the nobility; founded circumstances for stowage of jural state and civil society. It allows suggesting the definite modernization impulse of that foreign policy conflict. |
