dc.description	O presente trabalho descreve os resultados parciais de uma dissertação de mestrado em andamento na Universidade Estadual de Londrina, cujo objetivo é refletir sobre as razões das desistências e das persistências de estudantes do curso de Física, tendo como referencial teórico a psicanálise lacaniana. Inicialmente analisamos dois relatórios, um da licenciatura e um do bacharelado, a partir dos quais foi possível obter uma visão geral das desistências, retenções e terminalidade do curso de Física da nossa instituição nos últimos 10 anos. Em seguida comentamos alguns resultados obtidos a partir do estudo de um caso, realizado com um aluno do primeiro ano do curso, através dos quais estamos procurando ter uma visão mais profunda sobre as diversas motivações e interesses que alguns estudantes apresentam ao ingressar no curso, bem como sobre eventuais fatores que ao motivar ou desmotivar os alunos exercem algum tipo de influência sobre sua permanência no curso.<br>The present work describes some partial results of a Master’s dissertation in the State University of Londrina, whose objective is to reflect about the reasons for drop out and the perseverance of students on a Physics course at the State University of Londrina. Initially we analyzed two reports, from which it was possible to obtain a general view from some quantitative data from the course in the last 10 years. After, taking Lacanian psychoanalysis as our theoretical framework, we analyzed some results obtained from a case study with a student from the first year of the course. As expected we have achieved a deeper vision of the various motivations and interests presented by students when going into the course, as well as about other factors that possibly may have exerted some influence on their carrying on.
