dc.description	OBJETIVO: destacar los resultados más significativos obtenidos en el segundo curso de la Facultad de Medicina de Adén y el impacto que produjo la visita de Fidel a este centro de estudio. DESARROLLO: se describieron brevemente las características fundamentales de la facultad en cuanto a la composición del personal docente, su ubicación, locales, recursos materiales disponibles y libros de texto utilizados. Además se explican los resultados obtenidos en la docencia de pregrado (2 primeros años), la superación profesional y los logros alcanzados en los trabajos de investigación que se presentaron en la II Sesión Científica de la facultad, así como la preparación de la docencia en el área clínica. CONCLUSIONES: se consolidó la docencia en las ciencias básicas y se sentaron las bases para la docencia clínica, se incrementó el trabajo de investigación científica de los estudiantes y profesores, sin embargo, el hecho más significativo y de trascendencia histórica fue la visita de Fidel a esta facultad el 11 de marzo de 1977.<br>AIM: to stress the most significant results attained in the second course of the Medical Faculty in Adén, and the impact produced by Fidel'visit to that educational center. DEVELOPMENT: the main characteristics of the faculty as regards the composition of the teaching staff, its allocation, places, available material resourses, and text books used were briefly described. The results obtained in pregraduate education (two first years), as well as in professional upgrading were also explained. The achievements attained with the research papers submitted in the II Scientific Meeting of the faculty and the preparation of teaching in the clinical area was also dealt with. CONCLUSIONS: teaching in basic sciences was consolidated and the foundations for clinical teaching were laid down, and the scientific research of students and professors increased; however, the most significant, transcendent and historical event was the visit of Fidel to this faculty on march 11, 1977.
