dc.description The aim of this study is to determine 8th grade students’ misconceptions about the unit of “Cell Division” by using roundhouse diagramming, detected misconceptions eliminate by an analogy and conceptional change texts. The research single group pre-test and post test were used. The sample of study was 26 eighth grade students (Boy – 12/Girl –14) from “A Primary School” in Kırsehir/Turkey. Three roundhouse diagrams were drawn about unit of cell division’s seven basic concepts to determine their misconceptions. The results of this research show that the vast majority of students had misconceptions about “DNA, chromosome, gene”, “mutation, modification” and “mitosis, meiosis”. Given to remove misconceptions identified by analogy to investigate the effect of conceptual change texts. As a result, by analogy, the conceptual change texts were found to be effective in remedying students' misconceptions were identified.
