dc.description O presente texto é resultado das análises decorrentes de uma pesquisa sustentada na interpretação da obra jornalística da educadora Cecília Meireles produzida no período de 1930 a 1933, para o jornal Diário de Notícias. O exercício hermenêutico deste trabalho investigativo, quese operou em 827 crônicas e 148 reportagens veiculadas em a Página, possibilitou perceber que o combate ceciliano se sustentou em dois eixos: Educação e Infância, tendo como cerne de ação a preocupação em informar e formar os adultos da família, da escola e do governo a respeito das especificidades que envolviam o processo de educar a criança no ideário da Escola Nova. A concepção de infância por ela defendida sustenta-se na possibilidade de respeitar a infância apartir das condições vivenciadas pelas crianças, vendo-as como seres concretos, situados histórica e geograficamente num espaço de diversidades. <br><br>The present text is the result of analyses of a research study supported in the interpretation of the journalistic work of educator Cecília Meirelles, produced from 1930 to 1933 and published in the Diário de Notícias newspaper. The hermeneutic exercise in this investigative work, from 827 chronicles and 148 news stories published in A Página, made it possible to remark that the Cecilian contest supported itself in two axes: Education and Childhood, focusing on her concern about instructing and forming adults in the family, school and government on the specificities that involved thechild education process in the Escola Nova ideas. The concept of childhood defended by her sustains itself in the possibilities of respecting this notion based on the living conditions experienced by the children, seeing them as concrete beings placed historically andgeographically in a diverse space.
