dc.description	This paper presents the main categories which underpinning the dialectical and historical materialism method developed by Marx aiming at contributing to the discussion on the educational research methodology. It discusses the difficulties and challenges of the theoretical statute of Marx’ work as well as of the authors who address this methodological conception which help to understand the meaning and direction of the education in the field of the capitalist mode of production.
