Finalmente, o texto aborda as semelhanças e diferenças entre as concepções de J. Jacotot e Paulo Freire e a atualidade de O mestre ignorante.<br>In this interview, Rancière sets The ignorant schoolmaster both in his intellectual course and the political, social and academic context of France in the 80s. Its content reaffirms the main theses in the book: What schoolmasters are ignorant of is inequality. The principle of equality is an axiom to be confirmed. Emancipation supposes an equal, universal functioning of intelligence. After all, the logic of emancipation only deals with individual relationships and it is not - nor can it be - either a schooling system or a cultural undertaking. Finally, the text compares the conceptions of Jacotot and Paulo Freire and the topicality of The ignorant schoolmaster.
