New Technologies (NT) represent important tools in education today, because it involves, besides the knowledge of the area, the management of computer systems. For their complexity, the investigation doesn't seek to analyze the paper of the NT in the education and more specifically in the teaching of the Physical Geography. Starting from documental investigation, it seeks to settle down some considerations about the application of these technologies to innovate in to innovate in the process of teaching and learning in the area. Considering that the NT branch of geography that are aimed at studying the physical environment to provide social and environmental solutions to the problems, the NT are seen as activities in which, using a systematic method to integrate the means to acquire and manage data special operations required as part of scientific, administrative and legal involved in the production and management of spatial information, as Geographical Systems of Information (SIG), determination of Global Positioning (GPS), remote sensors, and Models of Digital Elevation (MED), among others, that will allow to reach those new paradigms. Here the first consideration arises: the evident gap between the teaching process and the students' learning and the referred NT. By continuing to traditional training, conflicts arise between knowledge and learning tools used inside and outside the university, leading to the second consideration: the change in roles traditionally held by the persons involved in the teaching act that take to the professor to reach more important dimensions, as that of the design of instructional situations for the student, and the tutor of this product. At issue is that the NT provide a new challenge to the educational system, and pass a training unidirectional model, where knowledge vested in the teacher, to open models where the information located in databases tend to be shared between many students and even teachers. This can be achieved by resizing the role of physical geography, strengthening their validity and relevance.<br>Las Nuevas Tecnologías (NT) representan herramientas importantes en la educación actual, porque implica, además del conocimiento del área, el manejo de sistemas informáticos. Por su complejidad, la investigación no pretende analizar el papel de las NT en la educación y más específicamente en la enseñanza de la Geografía Física. A partir de esta investigación documental, se pretenden hacer algunas consideraciones acerca de la aplicación de estas tecnologías para innovar en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje del estudiante del área. Considerando que las NT de esta rama de la geografía van dirigidas a estudiar el medio físico para aportar soluciones a las problemáticas socioambientales, las NT se conciben como actividades en las cuales, usando un método sistemático, se integran a los medios para adquirir y manejar datos especiales, requeridos como parte de operaciones científicas, administrativas y legales involucradas en la producción y manejo de información espacial, como Sistemas de Información Geográficos (SIG), determinación de Posicionamiento Global (GPS), Telesensores y Modelos de Elevación Digital (MED), entre otros, que permitirán alcanzar esos nuevos paradigmas. Aquí surge la primera consideración: el evidente desfase entre el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de los estudiantes y las NT referidas. Al continuar una formación tradicional, surgen los conflictos entre los conocimientos y medios de aprendizajes utilizados dentro y fuera de la universidad, originando la segunda consideración: el cambio de roles tradicionalmente desempeñados por las personas que intervienen en el acto didáctico, que llevan al profesor a alcanzar dimensiones más importantes, como la del diseño de situaciones instruccionales para el alumno, y el tutor de dicho producto. Lo que se plantea es que las NT aportan un nuevo reto al sistema educativo, y pasar de un modelo unidireccional de formación, donde los saberes recaen en el docente, a modelos abiertos donde la información situada en bases de datos, tiende a ser compartida entre diversos alumnos e incluso docentes. Así se puede lograr redimensionar el papel de la Geografía Física, afianzando su vigencia y pertinencia. |
