This study is aimed at understanding the action of the KardecistYouth of Ituiutaba UMEI during the period from 1958 to 1978. in1958 the "Educandário Ituiutabano" was created in Ituiutaba, MinasGerais. At that tame there was a lack of high school institutes in thecity because there were only private schools in this area. Recognizingthis situation it is our objective in this article to discuss how UMEIinfluenced the educational practives developed in the school, including the creation of a Student Council. The school obeyed,basically, the principles of the Organic Laws of High School Education proposed by Capanema during the Vargas Government. In accordance with the Organic Laws the project of the Kardecist group of Ituiutaba made an effort to fortify the nationalistic values,by engaging in a pedagogic proposal aimed at a patriotic formation. |
