Resumen: En el artículo se examina el uso que la periodista, abogada y novelista Mercedes Formica hace de la técnica literaria de la perspectiva múltiple en su novela A instancia de parte. Esta técnica permite a la autora proporcionar una visión más íntegra y reflexiva acerca del tema central de la novela: el adulterio.La novela fue publicada en 1955 y forma parte de la campaña que Mercedes Formica llevó a cabo en defensa de la reforma de los derechos jurídicos de la mujer española. Formica fue la primera que llevó esta reivindicación a un medio de comunicación de gran influencia social (el periódico ABC) y de este modo se pudo iniciar el debate público acerca de la necesidad de modificar la condición jurídica de la mujer española en el Código Penal y Civil en la década de los cincuenta. Summary: The article examines the use of “multiple perspective”, which is a literary technique used by the lawyer, journalist and novelist Mercedes Formica in her novel A instancia de parte. This technique allows the author to provide a deeper and richer view on the main topic discussed in the novel: adultery. The novel, which was published in 1955, is part of Mercedes Formica’s campaign in favor of reforming women’s legal rights. She was the first person who took the issue to the media, and in this way a debate on Civil and Criminal Laws concerning women started in the 1950’s Spanish society. |
