dc.description Resumen: Mediante un trabajo investigativo realizado durante varios años, se ha podido comprobar, que los estudiantes universitarios y los egresados de ese nivel de enseñanza, no adquieren las habilidades necesarias para identificar problemas nuevos que pueden ser resueltos mediante una integral definida, cuando son utilizados los métodos tradicionales de enseñar el cálculo integral.Como resultado de esta investigación, se ha logrado precisar un conjunto de propiedades que representan condiciones necesarias y suficientes, para que la solución de un problema pueda ser obtenida directamente mediante el cálculo de una integral definida. Eso ha sido enunciado y demostrado en un teorema.Abstract: Through a research carried out for some years, it has been possible to state that university students and graduates do not acquire the necessary abilities to identify new problems that can be solved by means of a definite integral, when the traditional methods of the teaching of the integral calculus are used.As a result of this research, a group of properties which represent the necessary and sufficient conditions so that the solution of a problem can be obtained directly through the calculus of a definite integral, were established. This process has been enunciated and demonstrated in a theorem.
