dc.description Em que termos os cenários sociopolíticos e culturais dos séculos XVI e XVII podem fazer emergir elementos da História, bem como da Sociologia e da Filosofia da Ciência, para a ressignificação da didática das Ciências Matemáticas contemporâneas? Este artigo apresentará alguns argumentos teóricos sobre esta questão e ainda analisará em que termos a construção histórica e social do conceito de método, no pensamento cartesiano, poderá enriquecer o ensino de Matemática a partir de textos didáticos existentes no sistema escolar.<br>How can the social, political and cultural scenes of the XVI and XVII Centuries, as well as elements of Sociology and Philosophy of Sciences, contribute to give Mathematics teaching and learning a new contemporary significance? This article will introduce some theoretical arguments about this question and will also analyse in what form the historical and social construction of Cartesian thought may enrich the teaching of Mathematics with the already available didactic scholarly texts.
