Eficiencia académica en las carreras de Ciencias Médicas y Centros de Educación Médica Superior

dc.description	En el estudio se analiza el comportamiento de la promoción total y las eficiencias académicas del ciclo y cursos en las carreras de Medicina, Estomatología y Licenciatura en Enfermería y la eficacia nacional de la rama de Ciencias Médicas y de los 13 centros de Educación Médica Superior de Cuba durante los cursos 1987-1988 a 1998-1999. Se destacó que la promoción total de las carreras de Estomatología estuvo por encima del 96,3 %, la de Medicina al 95,2 % y la de Licenciatura en Enfermería al 84,6 %; en los ciclos estudiados, entre 8 y 19 estudiantes de cada 100 que iniciaron la carrera de Estomatología no la concluyeron, 19 y 22 en Medicina y 22 y 41 en Licenciatura en Enfermería; la eficiencia nacional de la rama de Ciencias Médicas alcanzó un rango de 63,2 % a 82,2 % y en lo referente a los centros de Educación Médica Superior, entre los 4 institutos superiores de Ciencias Médicas, el de Camagüey alcanzó los mejores resultados y entre las 9 facultades de Ciencias Médicas, la de Pinar del Río; ambos en 6 de los doce cursos estudiados.<br>This study analyzes the overall promotion and the academic efficiency of cycles and courses in medicine, Dentistry and Nursery degree studies as well as the national efficiency rate of the Medical Sciences and of the 13 Higher Medical Education centers during the academic years 1987-1988 to 1998-1999 (12 years). It is stated that total promotion of Dentistry students was over 96.3 %; that of Medicine was 95.2 % whereas Nursery degree studies reached 84.6 %. In the studied cycles, 8 to 19 out of 100 students in medicine and 22-41 in Nursery. The national efficiency rate of Medical Sciences was in the range of 63.2-82.2 %. As to the Higger Medical Education centers, the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences in Camagüey showed the best results among the best among the 9 medical schools. Bocth achieved their best results in six of the twelve studied courses.
