dc.description This article reports on research results related to teacher education, in particular, in professional mathematics and science education masters degree programs. It aims to contribute to the meaning production about the expression “teacher research” and to the constitution of the “practical researcher” figure. The text analyses the discourse about education in Brazil; characterizes “teacher research”; analyses recent mathematics teacher production; establishes quality criteria; develops reflections on the formation of the mathematics professor/researcher; and proposes three research frameworks. One of them, the Interesting Model, has foundations in Social Constructivism, on principles of Ethnomathematics and Modeling, although it assumes a foucaultian conception about power/knowledge, both circularly related.&#13; &#13; Keywords: Practical Researcher. Professional Mathematics Teacher Pos-graduation Education.<br>Este ensaio traz resultados de investigações no tema formação de professores e, em especial, formação nos cursos de Mestrado Profissionalizante da área de Ensino de Matemática e Ciências. Foi elaborado com objetivos de contribuir com a produção de significados para a expressão “pesquisa do professor” e com a subjetivação da figura do “professor pesquisador”. O texto analisa o discurso educativo brasileiro e explicita características desta modalidade de pesquisa, analisa produções recentes de professores de Matemática e estabelece critérios de qualidade, desenvolve reflexões sobre caminhos para a formação do professor de Matemática pesquisador, expondo três referenciais metodológicos úteis para esta formação, já institucionalizados. Um deles, o Modelo do Interesse, tem seus fundamentos no Construtivismo Social, em princípios da Etnomatemática e da Modelagem, assumindo concepção foucaultiana de poder/saber, ambos circularmente relacionados.&#13; &#13; Palavras-chave: Professor Pesquisador.
