dc.description Se realizó una investigación en el área de la enseñanza de pregrado, que tuvo la intención de identificar factores relacionados con la implementación de la asignatura Morfofisiología Humana I del Programa Nacional Formativo del Médico Integral Comunitario, desde la óptica de los profesores y estudiantes participantes en dicho programa, en el municipio Páez, del estado Portuguesa, República Bolivariana de Venezuela, durante el primer curso académico en que se aplicó el programa. El universo estuvo constituido por 101 alumnos y 70 profesores, agrupados en 6 núcleos docentes, la muestra quedó constituida por 38 alumnos y 21 profesores de dos núcleos docentes seleccionados al azar, se aplicó una encuesta a cada grupo con 15 y 20 preguntas respectivamente y una entrevista a los jefes de núcleos docentes y activista docente del municipio, considerados informantes clave. La aplicación de estos instrumentos y métodos permitió identificar diversos factores, tanto favorables como desfavorables relacionados con el desarrollo de la asignatura Morfofisiología Humana I del Programa Nacional Formativo del Médico Integral Comunitario, predominaron los que lo hacen en sentido favorable, tales como, la satisfacción con el Programa de la asignatura, el cumplimiento de las estrategias docentes, la vinculación teórico-práctica, la preparación metodológica de los profesores, así como su compromiso en el desempeño docente. Como factores con influencia negativa resultaron las condiciones deficientes de algunos consultorios comunitarios, la carga asistencial de los profesores y las condiciones socioeconómicas de algunos estudiantes.<br>A research work was conducted in undergraduate teaching to identify those factors related to the introduction of the Human Morphology I subject within the National Program for the Formation of Integrated Community Physicians. This research took into account the views of the professors and the students who were involved in such a program in Paez municipality, Portuguesa state, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela during the first academic year when this program was implemented. The universe was made up of 101 students and 70 professors from 6 educational groups but the final sample comprised 38 students and 21 professors from two randomly selected groups. Each group answered a 15-question and a 20-question survey respectively whereas the head of the educational groups and the teaching activists of the municipalities were interviewed since they were considered key informants. The implementation of these instruments and methods allowed unveiling several favorable and unfavorable factors related to the development of Human Morphophysiology I subject within the National Program for the Formation of Integrated Community Physicians. The favorable ones prevailed, that is, the satisfaction with the subject curriculum, the linking of theory and practice, the methodological preparation of professors and their commitment to the teaching performance. Among the negative factors, there were the poor condition of some physician's offices in the community, the assistance burden upon the professors and the social and economic conditions of certain students.
