dc.description	Este artigo propõe reflexões sobre as relações entre trabalho, aposentadoria e terceira idade, segmento que hoje representa uma parcela significativa da população. Considera-se o trabalho fundamental para a qualidade de vida dos sujeitos, que são muitas vezes excluídos do mercado de trabalho, sem grandes possibilidades de reinserção. Discutem-se as dificuldades que os idosos enfrentam para se manter atualmente no mercado de trabalho, a importância da preparação para a fase de aposentadoria e a necessidade de continuarem participando de todos os âmbitos da vida social e lutando para a efetivação de seus direitos. <br> This article proposes reflections about the relationships among work, retirement and third age, segment that today represents a significant portion of the population. The work is considered essential for the quality of life of the subjects, that are excluded of the labor market a lot of times, without great reintegration possibilities The difficulties faced by the seniors to stay now in the labor market are discussed. It is also important the preparation for the retirement phase and the seniors need to continue participating in all the ambits of the social life and battling to turn effective its rights.
