dc.description Se exponen algunas reflexiones acerca de la situación actual de la formación ética de los educandos de la Universidad Médica en Cuba, cuya misión es la preparación de profesionales capaces de asegurar la continuidad histórica del sistema de salud cubano. La formación de valores ha pasado a ser el núcleo fundamental de la misión de la universidad cubana que tiene como elemento central, por la fuerza de su ejemplo personal, al profesor. Es en el aspecto metodológico donde se consideran que radican las principales deficiencias y según los resultados preliminares de esta investigación no se ha logrado un proceso suficientemente participativo y contextualizado que logre la pertinencia requerida en el proceso de formación de valores de los futuros profesionales de la salud.<br>Some considerations about the present situation of the ethic formation of medical students that is aimed at training professionals capable of guarantee the historical continuity of the Cuban health system, are made. The development of values has become the fundamental objective of the mission of our University, where the professor is the central element due to the force of his personal example. The main deficiencies are observed in the methodological aspect and, according to the preliminary results of this research, there has not been a sufficiently participative and contextualized process with the required relevance in the development of values among the future health professionals.
