As Professor Dr. Ugur Demiray has written in his companion text to this guest editors’ introduction, this is TOJDE’s first guest-edited special theme issue. We are privileged and delighted to have taken on the role of facilitating this issue.The issue is entitled Evaluation in Open and Distance Education: Retrospects and Prospects.
