dc.description Com este estudo procurámos investigar a existência de possíveis relações entre as dificuldades em leitura por um lado, e em matemática no sentido geral, e aritmética em particular, por outro. Sendo considerados como dois processos básicos semelhantes a nível operatório, admitir-se-á que a promoção de competências num dos campos terá reflexos no outro e sendo que ambos implicam um conjunto diversificado de competências cognitivas, torna-se importante saber o tipo de interferências que se geram entre estas áreas de conhecimento, e saber se serão susceptíveis de abordagens baseadas em modelos teóricos semelhantes.&#13; &#13; Palavras-Chave: Dificuldades de Aprendizagem. Operações aritméticas.<br>This study is proposed to investigate possible relations between the difficulties in Reading on the one hand, and Mathematics in the general, and Arithmetic in particular, on the other one. Being considered as two similar basic processes at the operatory level, one can admit that the promotion of abilities in one of the fields will have consequences in the other. However, as the processes of learning, both in reading and in Mathematics, imply a diversified set of cognitive abilities, it is important to know the type of interferences generated between these apparently so different areas of knowledge, but susceptible of being explored based on similar theoretical models. &#13; &#13; Key-words: Learning Difficulties.
