dc.description	Se realizó un estudio de investigación sobre la utilización de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones en la asignatura Morfofisiología Humana I, que se impartió en el Programa Nacional de Formación de Medicina Integral Comunitaria, en Maracaibo, Estado de Zulia, con el objetivo de caracterizar su utilización en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Se trabajó con una muestra de 63 profesores y 163 alumnos, que consideró como universo a la totalidad de estudiantes y profesores de la asignatura, curso 2005-2006. Se aplicaron encuestas a los sujetos antes mencionados. Los resultados se presentaron en tablas para su discusión, tomando como medida resumen los números absolutos y porcientos. Se concluye el trabajo con la identificación de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones más usadas por estudiantes y profesores (computadora, CD de la asignatura y el video didáctico) y las menos utilizadas (internet en estudiantes y profesores y el laminario virtual en estudiantes). Se identificaron factores relacionados con el uso de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones en la asignatura, en estudiantes (edad, procedencia escolar, conocimiento previo de informática y disponibilidad de medios para el estudio en el hogar) y en profesores (preparación pedagógica, categorización docente, habilidad en el manejo de medios y recursos tecnológicos para la docencia, y el tiempo). El análisis realizado puede contribuir al perfeccionamiento de la asignatura y a elevar la efectividad del proceso docente desde la óptica de la preparación informática de los estudiantes y la preparación integral de los profesores.<br>A research study on the use of information and communication technologies in Human I Morphophysiology subject, included in the National Program of Training in Comprehensive Community Medicine, in Maracaibo, Zulia State, was conducted to characterize their use in the teaching-learning process. We worked with a sample of 63 professors and 163 students, considered as the universe of all students and professors of this subject in the course 2005-2006. Surveys were applied to the above mentioned individuals. The results were presented in tables for discussion, considering as an outcome measure the absolute numbers and percentages. We conclude the work with the identification of the most used information and communication technologies by students and professors (computers, CDs of the subject and didactic videos), and the least used (internet in students and professors, and virtual pictures in students). We identify factors related to the use of information and communication technologies in the subjects by students (age, school origin, previous knowledge of computers, and availability of the means for studying at home), and by the professors (educational training, teaching rank, ability in the use of aids and technological resources for teaching, and the time). The analysis made may contribute to the improvement of the subject and to increase the effectiveness of the educational process from the point of view of the informatics training of the students, and of the comprehensive training in teachers.
